2020 Tenor Syrah

The 2020 Tenor Syrah was crafted from Scarline Vineyard in the Royal Slope AVA and Va Piano Vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley AVA. Farmed using sustainable practices, the vines were limited to one or two clusters per shoot for maximum concentration. The fruit was hand-harvested in the early mornings of October. Upon arriving in the winery, each cluster was hand-sorted, berry-sorted, and fermented in stainless steel (74%) and barrels (26%). The free-run wine was then cellared for 21 months in new French oak (74%). The resulting 4 barrels were bottled in July 2022, producing only 236 cases.

"A deliciously peppery and spicy syrah with aromas of mulberries, chocolate strawberries, plums, mocha, cloves and cracked pepper. Full-bodied, supple and balanced, with ripe tannins and deliciously soft fruit. Drink or hold."

Tasting Notes

Showing a gorgeous garnet color in the glass, the 2020 Tenor Syrah evokes aromas of espresso, spring flowers, mesquite and loganberry. The palate shows red currant, lingonberry jam and dried cedar flavors on a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel. There is a mouth-quenching acidity balanced by chewy tannins. The warm, spicy finish lingers with dark berries.
