A New Horizon for Tenor

We’re thrilled to share some exciting news about the future of Tenor.
Tenor has officially joined the family of brands under Mercer Wine Estates, a multi-generation, family-owned Washington winegrower deeply rooted in the Columbia Valley. This partnership brings long-term investment, vineyard stewardship, and shared values—while preserving the heart and soul of Tenor wines.
Just as important: our winemaking team remains the same. Alex Stewart, Hal Iverson, and Andy Ferguson will continue crafting Tenor wines with the same vision, balance, and vineyard-driven focus you know and love. This transition is about strengthening our foundation—not changing our style. The winemaking team will also continue to source fruit from the same esteemed vineyards throughout the Columbia Valley.
With Mercer’s deep farming legacy, a shared commitment to Washington’s top vineyard sites, and more than 60 years of combined winemaking experience, we’re excited about what this next chapter makes possible—continued quality, long-term consistency, and even more ways for you to experience Tenor wines, including expanded opportunities in Woodinville, Prosser, and Walla Walla.
What does this mean for Tenor membership? Many new and exciting updates ahead! Over the next few months members can expect:
- A refine release schedule for more seasonal balance and member transparency
- Updated member benefits that will soon expand across the Mercer portfolio, giving you access to your new benefits in their prosser and walla walla tasting rooms
- Starting today and over the next few months tenor members will receive 15% off mercer wines in walla walla and prosser
- You will continue to receive the same benefits you always have for matthews, jaine and single barrel
- A new Matthews tasting room at the harvest development will host exciting member events for all mercer wine estate members, and pop-ups from other brands in the mercer portfolio, including tenor
- The wines will still be made by our stellar winemaking team at the winemaking studio in woodinville. The studio tasting room will also see an interior update and become a community gathering space to taste wines from all brands in the mercer portfolio and an accompanying bottle shop
We’re grateful to have you with us and can’t wait to share more of what’s ahead. If you ever have questions, we’re always happy to help. Here’s to an exciting next chapter—and many great bottles ahead.
With gratitude,
The Tenor Team
