2020Grenache
The 2020 Tenor Grenache was crafted from the Thunderstone vineyard in the Royal Slope AVA. Farmed using sustainable practices, the vines were limited to one or two clusters per shoot for maximum concentration. They were then hand-harvested in the early mornings between September and October 2020. Upon arriving in the winery, each cluster was hand-sorted, berry-sorted, and then fermented in stainless steel (100%). The free-run wine was then cellared for 22 months in new French oak (69%), and neutral French oak (31%). The resulting 3 barrels were bottled in June 2022, producing only 160 cases.
Tasting Notes
This Grenache is a light-bodied wine, light ruby in color with aromas of sour cherry, rhubarb, sarsaparilla, and game spices. On the palate, raspberry Danish, black tea and strawberry preserves are met with dried rose petals. Silky, refined tannins and a finish of lingering fresh-picked berries and crushed flowers. This wine is inherently drinkable.

Awards & Accolades
"Ripe black cherries, mulberries, sappy spring flowers, pepper, and scrub brush notes all emerge from the 2020 Grenache, a gorgeous, medium to full-bodied, concentrated Grenache with terrific balance, fine yet building tannins, and a great finish. It's a legit, impressive Grenache that will benefit from a year or two in the cellar and evolve for a decade. Bravo."
