2017Malbec
2017Malbec
The 2017 Malbec was crafted from two small vineyard parcels along the Royal Slope in the Columbia Valley AVA. Farmed using sustainable practices, the vines were limited to one or two clusters per shoot to create maximum concentration in each cluster. They were hand-harvested in the early morning between Septem- ber 27th - October 6th, 2017. Upon arriving in the win- ery, each cluster was hand-sorted, berry-sorted, and fermented in concrete tanks. Using only the free-run wine, it was then moved to custom French oak barrels (83% new) for 23 months of cellaring with over 40 individual evaluations by our winemaking team. Only 7 barrels were bottled (unfined and unfiltered) producing only 147 cases.
Tasting Notes
Bright and energetic, this wine will open up well with time in the bottle. A touch more floral and feminine in its youth, the 2017 Tenor Malbec will put on weight quickly with time. Richly textured, fruit forward, and unabashedly opulent. True to the varietal, it is fresh, beautifully perfumed and supremely silky.

Awards & Accolades
"All Malbec from the Scarline and Stillwater Creek vineyards, the 2017 Malbec sports a dense purple color as well as gorgeous blueberry and cassis fruits, sappy herbs, spring flowers, and hints of graphite on the nose. With remarkable purity, a fresh, focused style, and terrific concentration, drink this beauty any time over the coming 15 years. I suspect it will be even better with 2-3 years of bottle age."

"Displaying a deep purple core and electric pink rim, the 2017 Malbec opens with juicy, ripe aromas of black plum, currant, cassis and black raspberry with vanilla, baking spices and chocolate ganache. Full-bodied, the wine is generous with a broad mouthfeel that is textured and balanced, offering bright acidity and lifting tannins across the mid-palate. With a long, drawn-out finish, the wine offers pleasure at every turn. The wine spent 23 months in French oak, over 80% new. Only 1,700 bottles made."

"Another pretty Malbec with purple-fruit and citrus undertones to the finely tannined palate and fresh finish. Drink and enjoy. Synthetic cork."
