The 2020 Tenor One-of-One Cabernet Sauvignon is dark ruby in the glass, with aromas of blueberry, graphite, orange peel, black cherry and crème de cassis. On the medium-bodied palate, primary ripe plum and blackberry flavors are met with espresso, cocoa nib and cola. The texture is elegant and seamless with polished and balanced tannins. The refined, lingering finish expresses minerality and well-integrated oak.

Vintage Notes

The 2020 Tenor One of One was crafted from Champoux and Wallula Gap vineyards of the esteemed Horse Heaven Hills AVA. Farmed using sustainable practices, the vines were limited to one or two clusters per shoot for maximum concentration. They were hand-harvested over several early mornings throughout September and October. Upon arriving in the winery, each cluster was hand-sorted, berry-sorted and fermented in a combination of stainless steel tanks and 100% new French oak barrels. Using the free-run wine, only 4 barrels were selected and bottled, without fining or filtration, resulting in 92 cases.

The 2020 Tenor ‘1:1’ comes from the acclaimed Wallula Gap and Champoux Vineyards and was stored in all new French oak barrels before bottling. This wine was blended by the new Tenor/Matthews winemaking. This intense showing comes off very inky in the glass, displaying great aromatic range of creme de cassis with dark chocolate shavings, graphite, espresso grounds and freshly picked violets. The palate is silky and refined, with serious flavor density and marvelous texture. While obviously big, this has a weightless feel on the mid-palate. A joy to drink now, give this about an hour in the decanter if savoring in its heady youth.
