A new release sourced all from the Royal Slope, the 2012 Syrah offers a deep, saturated purple color as well as a thrilling bouquet of blackberries, blueberries, peppery meats, and game, with a touch of bacon fat emerging with time in the glass. This deep, rich, beautifully concentrated effort has a full-bodied, expansive, sweetly fruited profile, ripe tannin, and a great finish. It's a gorgeous, layered effort.

Dark ruby. Knockout aromas and flavors of raspberry, violet, bacon fat and black olive tapenade; I thought of La Mouline! Intense and vibrant, boasting terrific inner-mouth precision and sweetness. Still a baby but the great potential of this dense, sweet wine is clear on the extremely long, subtle finish, which features building spice and violet notes, outstanding clarity and a wild meaty nuance. Wow!
