2021 Tenor Sauvignon Blanc

The 2021 Tenor Sauvignon Blanc was crafted from two vineyards, Bacchus in White Bluffs AVA and La Reyna Blanca in the Royal Slope AVA. Farmed using sustainable practices, the vines were limited to one or two clusters per shoot for maximum concentration. They were then hand-harvested in August & September of 2021. The fruit was sorted in the field and whole-cluster pressed until desired flavor profile was achieved. The juice went through a long and slow fermentation, in 85% new French oak of varying format size and then aged for 1 year. This wine was cold stabilized and bottled unfiltered for maximum flavor and aromatic intensity. Only 148 cases were produced.

Tasting Notes

The unfiltered 2021 Tenor Sauvignon Blanc has a light goldenrod color, slight opacity, and dramatic purity. Orange oil, sweet floral hyacinth, and lemon chiffon create a pleasing tension against the more mineral sea brine, struck flint, and yellow cedar. The palate delivers an abundance of orange peel, salted lemon, and lime leaf with a rich brioche and candied ginger accompaniment. The medium bodied mouthfeel is superbly balanced with very intricate acidity. The finish is long and complex with starfruit, spice, and minerals.
