Varietal Composition

100% Chardonnay

Tasting Notes

Lemon curd with citrus zest, crème brulée, spice, quinine, rocks and chalk. Tightly wound around a core of peach pit and barrel spice. The palate is filled with light toast and baking spices and lime zest. Minerals and structure underpinning peach and pear, with green notes of quince and key lime. Shows the more angular and bracing side of Chardonnay grown on fractured basalt.

Awards & Accolades

"Coming to Washington via Napa Valley, Aryn Morell is producing some serious wines under his Tenor Wines label. In addition to the wines reviewed here, he also releases a Sauvignon Blanc and a Malbec. While he didn’t produce his top cuvee in 2011, his second cuvee of 2:2 is a fantastic wine. The 2012s, both of which were tasted from barrel, are certainly in the same league as his 2010s."
